1. So what’s it like being a chick in rock? Also you have two male members. Do you have problems there or are they utterly terrified of you?

Well I can only speak for myself obviously, but I would say it’s much the same as being a bloke in rock. Everyone in this business has to go out and prove they’ve got what it takes. But if you’re female it’s like you have to be twice as good as your male peers. I think this old school attitude is really dying out now though. When we first started we used to get compared to bands like My Ruin and Hole just because they’ve got female singers. But now we’re more likely to get compared to Tool or the Deftones because our music is more similar to those bands. As for Al and Drew I tamed those bitches years ago.

2. I notice that you are going soon into Scandinavia to tour, and I heard about a possible run through California this year. How do you feel about international touring, is it a bitch or exciting?

Life’s a bitch – touring is exciting. I mean you’re seeing the world and rocking out with people who’ve never seen you before but at the back of your mind you’re worrying about your next rent cheque just like everyone else. Still if I get asked to play somewhere I buy a plane ticket first and worry about the landlord second.

3. You are in the studio. How is the new stuff going to sound? Should we be expecting a more evolved version of Spawn or something totally different? When should we expect this new album? Is it titled? Decided on the first single?

Things have definately moved on since recording spawn but the difference is more to do with picking up new threads rather than just evolving from what we’ve already done. Hopefully this record will cement what is unique about us but keep our following guessing as to what’s coming next. The working title is ‘Not Everybody Gets A Happy Ending’ and it should come out early next year. It’s difficult to decide on the first single right now as several contenders are jumping out of the speakers at us as we speak…

4. It’s no secret that the UK and America are the leading producers of music. Do you think it’s easier for an artist from the UK or America to break their own country or the opposite, easier to break the other?

Well that depends on what kind of music you’re playing. The UK seems to be capable of only championing one local rock band at a time yet devour anything rocking that originates stateside. I’ve been to gigs where an unknown support band has been going down really badly and then the singer talks to the crowd in an american accent and all of a sudden the crowd thinks the band’s brilliant. If that happens in reverse we shall rule america by the end of 2007.
