Q: What is your feelings on the recent success of other Finnish bands such as HIM and The 69 Eyes in the United States? How do you think that benefits you as a band coming from the same area of Finland?
Actually, I don’t know how it benefits us, but hopefully in some way. Although it must be said it would be really nice if people listened to us because they like our music and not because we come from Finland. Anyway, it is pretty cool if Finnish bands are successful abroad. We have really cool bands here that should be more well known outside Finland like: ShamRain, Magenta Skycode, Romantic Vision, Viola, Boys Of Scandinavia, Angelica Kult, Echo Is Your Love, Impaled Nazarine…
Q: Will you ever release your album in the United States?
I don’t have any exact dates, the whole thing is still under construction. Hopefully it will happen as soon as possible. We have people working for it and I hope they will make it all happen. I really do. We have once played in New York and I just felt in love with the city instantly and want get back there soon as possible.
Q: Are there any plans of a new video? If yes, for which song and do you have any ideas of how you want the video to be?
The video for Ocean is ready and will be online soon (5/29/06), so go and check it out @ www.iconcrash.com. We have been talking about the video of the song called Everlasting which will be the first single of our next album. I have seen some material that the video crew have done before and I am looking forward to work with them. No names mentioned yet.
Q: What is the next single to be released? What are your feelings regarding this single?
I cannot say anything about that yet because we are still working on Nude. I hope it will be released in many countries and if some companies want to release singles I don’t mind. First single of our next album should be Everlasting. We have been playing that song live for months and it seems that people pretty much like that song so I have a good feeling about it. Hopefully we succeed in capturing the live feeling in the studio.
Q: I’ve heard that you are currently recording a new album. When do you expect that album to be released and do you have a title of the album yet?
Yes we have been working with the new album for few months now. Working name is Phantasmagoria, but the name changes once a week=). It should be released in January 2007. Everything is quite messy at the moment because we just changed record label but it seems like everything is finding their places now and we will hopefully get some kind of balance and calm soon. We have been through a really rough time.
Q: Any plans of a tour? If yes, where?
We start touring in again in August and we will play our first gig with our new line-up in Tartu, Estonia on August 4th. and then we should do Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and maybe Russia. In September we tour in UK. I would love to get on the road tomorrow, but it is not possible yet. Ooops… We are going to play at MTV3 here in Finland on July 20th. So that is the first gig with Teemu.
Q: What is it like on the first day after winter when you wake up in sunlight?
Wow… I don’t know much about the mornings because I always wake up at day time. We are not living in lapland so we can enjoy the sun light throughout the year.
