What was the concept behind the video “Women, Butterflies, and Snakes”?
The video relates to the song in the sense that the guy is chasing a girl who when he finally gets to her he realizes she is a ghost. The girl in the video is Sammie Jo Taylor who designs all of our CD artwork and is the eye on the cover of our Accelerator CD. The guy who is chasing her is Eddie Kabboom, he does all our photography. We like to keep it all in the family if we can. We surround ourselves with a loyal team who all have multiple roles in the everyday running of K.O.KAINE kinda like Elvis and his Memphis Mafia lol.
How did you decide on which track you would release as your first single?
Tell us a little more about this song.
We wanted a song that wasn’t too heavy or too light, I think the appeal of the band is that we are a multi genre heavy band. Its ok to like us if you are goth or if you are emo or a metal head etc. One of the things about the Play To Ghosts cd is that there is something for everyone and we felt that “Women, Butterfies, and Snakes” was a song that showed this.
Tell us more about your live performances, for those of us who haven’t been fortunate enough to experience you perform live.
We like to add a lot of showmanship to the performances. I remember as a child how cool it was seeing David Lee Roth pull all his kung fu moves and to give an almost larger than life performance. Alice Cooper still has it and is still relevant. When grunge came in it was more about the music well we are like both mixed up. The performance is an integral part of the band, we don’t use backing tapes all the electronics are done live on stage and we certainly move around a lot. If people pay to see us then we want to give them a full show. Trevor the bass player has a habit of being sick all over the stage which is a bit of a health hazard. Not long ago the crowd got so into it they pulled out a barrier that was held solid in concrete. I also learned not to wear boots on stage because you slide everywhere and in tight jeans this can be a problem.
